Under the brand name Egri Bikavér only dry red wines with geographical protected origin can be put on market. Bikavér is the world famous wine of the region which is a blend of different red base wines. Base wines have to be aged separately in barrels at least for six months then for another six months in bottle.
The product of an outstanding vintage, Tóth Ferenc Egri Bikavér Superior is blended from the best single variety base wines of the winery. Kékfrankos, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon come from Síkhegy, Kadarka and Pinot Noir from Almagyar and Merlot from Tihamér. All base wines were aged in barrels optimal in size and type for the specific variety for 18 months.
