Gallay Genus, 2018

A blend of three varieties from a very dry and warm vintage. This wine clearly shows the benefits of cultivating cool climate varieties. Harvested from different vineyards from Bükk region. After crushing the grapes are fermented in small open top bins and fermentation cups (skins) are punched down 3 times a day for about 20 days. Fermented with wild yeast. Only 3 barrels are made in total, 1 of each variety. The barrels are made from different oaks: Hungarian, French and American. Gallay Genus is a really complex wine with a lot of layers. It displays aromas of cherry plum red berries, a touch of bourbon vanilla, nutmeg and spices. Tannins are smooth and soft.
